Supporting Small SA Local Businesses

I am all for supporting local businesses. The same goes for our flower growers in SA. When we can’t find flowers that we need locally (esp. for a wedding) , interstate is our last source. I just found out that one of our yearly growers and Adelaide for Mother’s Day is no longer in business. It is very sad for our state.
I was in a well known shopping centre with a florist business and as a small business operator, it opened up my eyes to how important the little shops are. If a shopping centre only had a couple of stores including a supermarket, not many people would shop at the centre.
I was forced to sell up shop and thus go mobile, because of our current economy status and my local supermarket making it extremely hard for me. I caught them out one day with clipboards writing down prices and what l stocked on the floor. The following day the volumn of flowers and plants sold doubled in size and even worse it welcomed customers as they entered.
 Then l have to wonder,
  • How often are they bringing in new stock
  • Do they refridgerate their flowers at night
  • are the treated and cared for properly
I don’t know if this also happended to other businesses, but many around me also suffered with some closing shop for good or just hanging in there.
By supporting your local florist, you can rest assure that you are getting top quality and fresh flowers. Our florists are trained in our industry for looking after your needs and giving advice such as on caring for flowers. We offer a delivey service and member discounts with a full website for choosing the perfect gift.
